Danish Road Institute

The Danish Road Institute supplies technical knowledge and consulting to the Danish road sector. The Danish Road Institute carries out research in many road related fields such as bearing capacity and surface properties which include durability, noise and friction. DRI promotes knowledge on roads to Danish and foreign customers and other interested parties.

EAPA - European Asphalt Pavement Association

EAPA is the European industry association which represents the manufacturers of bituminous mixtures and companies engaged in asphalt road construction and maintenance.

ENCI – Eerste Nederlandse Cement Industrie

ENCI staat voor cement, Nederlands cement. Drie fabrieken in Maastricht, Rotterdam en IJmuiden zetten jaarlijks circa 2,5 miljoen ton af. FAA - Federal Aviation Administration

The FAA is primarily responsible for the advancement, safety and regulation of civil aviation, as well as overseeing the development of the air traffic. For pavement engineering a number of Advisory Circulars are available. FAA’s Advisory Circular 150/5370-11A, “Use of Non destructive Testing Devices in the Evaluation of Airport Pavements (12-29-04)” provides guidance on non destructive testing equipment to evaluate the load-carrying capacity of airport pavements.

FWD Users Mailing List

The FWD Users Mailing List was started in 1996 with the aim of exchanging information by e-mail regarding falling weight deflection measuring equipment (Falling Weight Deflectometers) and the use of such in the determination of the bearing surface of a pavement. In this way the expertise and information available around the world is utilized.

FWD User's Group (FWDUG USA)

In an effort to “share information and experiences in the practical aspects of Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) testing and data analysis,” Bob Briggs had a vision of getting FWD users together. While an employee of the Texas Department of Transportation Bob, along with Erland Lukanen (Luke), and Lynne Irwin used the ASTM and TRB meetings as a forum to get things going. This “vision” became a reality in 1992 in Maplewood, Minnesota and is now known as the FWD Users Group. All owners, operators, users, and manufacturers are invited to exchange ideas.
